about

First of a new series of EP releases.

This EP features a collection of songs which either started their lives in dreams, as weird snippets of songs I woke up with and had to make a crude voice memo recording of before processing them fully. Or they are songs inspired by dreams.

'Across the field' ties into similar dreams which inspired the Roseberry album, all based on my childhood back in the north east. The big field near our house, which trains used to cross and the sun used to rise from.

'Library in the Sky' is inspired by a recurring dream about a library in a high rise type structure. There was a sky walk leading there and tall street lamps.

'Shred' was a song which appeared in a dream, in which a bunch of scarecrows on a stormy night chased me through a field, talking about how they could see in the dark and repeating the word 'Shred' over and over again. Quite terrifying!

'The Streets Were Full of Washing Machines' is another song which appeared in a dream, in the form of an 80's music video of a man who looked like a blue egg, singing along as he walked around empty streets full of washing machines. The video and song was fully formed, and I was amazed to wake up and realise both didn't exist, but in my dream world it was a top chart hit!
